Addressing inequities in neurotechnology design, research participation, and adoption for a more inclusive future.
Neurotech4All is a UK research project funded by ARIA (Advanced Research and Invention Agency), working to make neurotechnology truly inclusive and accessible to all.
We explore how neurotechnologies, from brain-computer interfaces to deep brain stimulation, can be developed and implemented in ways that reflect the full diversity of people who may use them. Our work spans neuroscience, engineering, social science, and community-based research.
Our research investigates the systemic inequities that affect who benefits from neurotechnology. We work directly with communities, patients, and clinicians to understand barriers faced by marginalised groups, and to co-develop practical, lasting solutions and recommendations.
Our research is structured around four key objectives and three dedicated work packages, each tackling a different dimension of inequity in neurotechnology.
