Neurotech4All at Par-Con 2025: Reflections

Reflections from ParCon 2025

We had a great time at ParCon 2025, the Parkinson’s UK conference held on Friday 24 and Saturday 25 October at the Vox Venue in Birmingham and online.

It was an inspiring and insightful two days that brought together people living with Parkinson’s, family members, health professionals, researchers, and supporters.

Around 360 people joined in person and 835 people took part online across the two days. The programme balanced practical guidance with big-picture updates, and there was a real sense of energy in the room and online.

Speaker at ParCon 2025

For our team at Neurotech4All, ParCon was an opportunity to share our current work on equitable neurotechnology and, more importantly, listen.

We hosted a stall to showcase our research and to invite people to take part in our survey on perceptions of Deep Brain Stimulation. Many visitors stopped by to ask questions and discuss their own journeys with Parkinson’s. These exchanges will shape the next phase of our project.

We are especially grateful to everyone who took the time to complete or begin our survey. For many, that meant talking through options in person and sharing reflections that are not always easy to put into words.

Taking part in ParCon gave us a clearer picture of what matters most to the community and how our work can be most useful. As we head back to our day-to-day work, we will carry forward the ideas and insights gathered at ParCon.
